The NHL Is Breathing Again

from Damien Cox of the Toronto Star,
The NHL said it would open up the game and create offence. It has. Gary Bettman's administration also vowed that new standards on annoying, game-killing fouls like hooking, interference and holding would not be relaxed when fall turned into winter. They haven't been. For a league that so often in the past didn't deliver on promises or allowed encouraging change to be swallowed up by creeping indifference, this is exciting new territory, indeed.
