FlyersFan: How exactly was it a disgraceful ending?

Hockeychic: And as an 8 seed, nonetheless! Definitely incredible.

That was a great game to watch. Intensity, great saves, good goals and hits. Phoenix fans and players were upset, and I don’t blame them for that. It was tough to lose like that. Great season by the Coyotes and I was happy to see Phoenix embrace the team. Hopefully it will lead to better things for them in Phoenix.

One of the best games that was not a 7th game. Not happy the way the coyotes think they are the ones not getting the calls, or breaks. Smiths chop to browns leg in game 3 is more of an intent to really injure someone, but because brown lived its ok. Brown hits someone pulling up to the line and has incidental contact with his leg and is vilified. Thats backward to me.

I think that the rules should be clarified as to goalie protective equipment coming off during a game.  It seems to me that common sense would have had stopped play to get glove back on.  Is a goalie really expected to stop a puck with a bare hand which must assuredly sustain severe injury.  What were they thinking?

Great game. Soooo tired of hearing Phoenix whine about the calls…especially from one of the dirtiest players (Doan). Just admit it, you were outplayed, plain and simple.

That whining and crying you hear this morning is still coming from Phoenix.  What a bunch of crybabies.  Did they really deluding themselves into thinking they were Cup material?  Shoot, circumstance and luck got them even to the WCF’s, where they didn’t even really belong.  Know your place, people…

I like how Smith, of all people, says Brown should be banned forever for a “grey” hit… when this is the same series where Smith himself put a wicked slash on Brown and probably should have missed a game for it for Intent to Injure (but didn’t).  A freaking goalie who gets away with everything complaining about someone getting away with something.  I mean, c’mon, really?

This playoffs has been a trainwreck for Smith’s PR by the way.  He came in with a lot of people respecting him and his play in the situation…. and he’s now leaving it with very little respect from anyone because he showed himself to be a jackass crybaby with nor personal accountability all series long.

And as for Doan… he showed everyone his true colors several years ago.  He will not get respect from many more people.  He’s one of the dirtiest, dumbest players in the game and he no hasn’t been able to just continue to hide in Phoenix’s hockey obscurity.

Congrats Phoenix Coyotes:  you got what you wanted, the spotlight.  And while in it, you showed the world what you are, and it’s nothing to be proud of.

Does Smith take a swipe at Richards after series ending goal or is that just a floow through?

I do not understand how the drilling of Boyd Gordon into the boards was missed.

For most Flyers Fans this was a disgusting end.  Especially after last year when management Kool-aided the fanbase that Richards and Carter were the axis of evil preventing the Flyers form going further last year.  Yet this year those two are on their way to the SCF.

So any time a team has good offensive zone pressure, a goalie “losing” a catcher/blocker would result in an immediate stoppage of play?  The refs already let the defending team get away with knocking the net off of its moorings far more than I would like, the last thing we need is another way for the defending team to kill the play.
