from Mike Sunnucks of the Phoenix Business Journal at the Sporting News,
Efforts to get a referendum to Glendale voters on the city’s Phoenix Coyotes deal could be faltering.
Organizers of the anti-Coyotes referendum may not have enough signatures to get on the ballot, and they could face a big legal fight with the city of Glendale over how many signatures are needed and when the petitions are due.
If the referendum falters, the National Hockey League could move to sell the Coyotes to Greg Jamison and the team would stay in Glendale.
