The Bottom Line- Devils Get Cap Room

In the latest maneuver in the Vladimir Malakhov saga, Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello officially suspended the defenseman, temporarily freeing New Jersey from having to pay his $3.6 million salary. "He has been suspended and is off the roster," Lamoriello said after Tuesday's morning skate at Codey Arena. Lamoriello said he put a call in to Malakhov and Malakhov's agent, Paul Theofanous, but had not heard back from either.
