Hello friends. My name is not really Twig, but it’s what I go by. I’ll be covering all forms of Minor League and European League Hockey for Kukla’s Korner. The blog will be called ‘The Affiliate’. I thought that was a fitting name considering the content of the blog and it didn’t appear to be taken by anyone else.
A little about me: I’m from Grand Haven, Michigan and would never have left but I joined the Army in 2003. After getting out in 2007, I decided I would have an easier time finding work in Seattle. I was wrong, so I moved to Houston. I’m currently enrolled at Sam Houston State as an English Major and I stay pretty busy writing essays about Japanese Quinces and stolen Pies, but I will find time to blog about hockey. My sanity depends on it.
What I would like The Affiliate to provide is a way for you to know more about what’s happening in the world of hockey. I hope that someday down the road, when you’re buying the jersey of your teams new rising star, you can look back and remember reading about him here.
And thank you, Paul for the opportunity to blog on your site.

Very cool idea. Will you be concentrating on any league in particular (AHL, KHL?) or all of them?

i have a feeling most of the news will come from the AHL, but i could be wrong. i’m following SM-Liiga, Elitserien, WHL, OHL, QMJHL and others on twitter so if anything interesting or relevant is said, i’ll be sure to post it.
