Videos- The Vegas Golden Knights Will Represent The Western Conference In The Stanley Cup Final

Final score- Vegas Golden Knights 2 Winnipeg Jets 1

Just an amazing story.

Truly remarkable.

If you are not a fan of the Eastern Conference team going to the Stanley Cup Final, I imagine you will be rooting for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Just think back to the start of the season, did any of you give them any type of chance to make the playoffs, let alone playing for the Stanley Cup?

Goals are below.

I expected Winnipeg would come out on fire today but they just looked flat, like they had already given up.

Incredible. I feel bad for teams who have never even been there, but they’ve earned it. Hopefully Fleury can keep it going and take it home for them!

Leaving the Penguins has liberated us to cheer for MAF, as well as Gallant.

Their roster never looked bad to me. It just didn’t remotely look like the
most recent prior expansion rosters. So with a proven goalie still in his prime
maybe one of the last playoff births in the West wouldn’t have been the strangest thing?

But this good all season and handily disposing of some of the best in the West?

Truly amazing.

The league clearly wanted this franchise to do well and start off on a competitive basis.
But everyone in that organization has taken that opportunity and knocked it out of the park.

Will save for another day the trivia of counting up any moves Vegas made that haven’t gotten just right. It almost looks like they assembled this roster with 20/20 hindsight.

I wonder if Hellebuyck still likes his game more than Fluery’s?

i can tell you that when Seattle gets a team their will not be an expansion draft like Vegas got. The way it was set for Vegas it was easy to pack a team. They had a huge pool of players to choose from.

Watch for the draft rules to change when Seattle gets in the NHL…

Unless the league decides to just pull up stakes in Phoenix, and, move the team to Seattle. It happened in Atlanta, twice.

If they are going to ask the reported $650M for an expansion fee you can bet the perspective owners will want a similar draft and I can’t blame them.

They might have had a large pool to choose from but let’s not overrate it. Almost all their selections were players that virtually no team wanted, were overpaid for their production or were simply bottom half roster players. It’s amazing what Vegas has done with those players.

What Vegas didn’t have to deal with was bloated contracts they couldn’t get rid of. This should help them continue to acquire more talent in coming years.

BTW, I think Fluery should be win the Conn Smythe regardless of what happens in the final. He’s been that dominant.
