The Golden Knights acquired right wing Mark Stone from the Ottawa Senators in a blockbuster deal shortly before Monday’s trade deadline.
In exchange for Stone, the Knights sent prospect Erik Brannstrom, forward Oscar Lindberg and a 2020 second-round draft pick to the Senators.
Stone could make his debut Tuesday when the Knights host Dallas at 7 p.m. at T-Mobile Arena.
“He should definitely bring a lot of energy to our room,” coach Gerard Gallant said. “I was expecting us to be ready to play (Tuesday) whether we got Mark Stone or not. But hopefully he brings a lot of goals to our team, a lot of character, work ethic. Like I said, he’s a great all-around player. He’s definitely going to help us.”
Stone, 26, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and announced on TSN he agreed to a contract extension with the Knights. A source said the deal was not finalized, but it was expected to be for eight years with a $9.5 million average annual salary and include a full no-movement clause.
