The Status Of Jack Eichel

Afams also said....

“I spoke to Jack two days ago, I spoke to the team yesterday and addressed this, Jack Eichel is no longer the captain of the Buffalo Sabres. From our perspective, the captain is your heartbeat of your team, and we are in a situation where we felt we needed to make that decision.”

Well, I think now it’s safe to say he won’t be playing another game in a Buffalo uniform

In other news around the league, Penguins announce Malkin will miss at least 2 months, still recovering from I believe off-season knee surgery.

yesterday Jack did not pass his physical. At this point, Jack is not willing to move forward with what our doctors are suggesting

This means they are in the process of suspending him so they don’t have to pay him. It’s clear that Eichel has played his last game as part of the Sabres organization. He’s not going to get his vertebrae fused and instead wants the artificial disc.

This was a colossal waste of 3 months by the Sabres medical staff as the issue is exactly what it was 3 months ago. This gives Eichel all kinds of ammunition to use in the upcoming grievance hearing that will take place in the upcoming future unless a trade can be worked out first.

I thought it was pretty well known that he needed surgery. The fact that Kevyn Adams failed to recognize this is just one of many indicators of how terribly run that organization is.

Who’s ever going to sign as a free agent there now? This is so short sighted.

Oh he 100% knew that surgery was required; it was just a disingenuous statement. The whole thing was just a formality to take action against Eichel for not agreeing to the fusion option.
