The Puck Drops Soon On The NHL Global Series

NEW YORK – The Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks are set to face off in the 2022 NHL Global Series™ in Prague, Czech Republic, to open their 2022-23 regular season at O2 Arena on Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8. Both games are set to start at 8 p.m. CET (NOVA Sport1, NOVA Action, Sky Sport Mix, MySports 8, V Sport 1 Suomi, YLE, V sport Vinter, Viaplay, NHL Network, Sportsnet, NBCS-California, Bally South).

The 2022 NHL Global Series™ will mark the ninth season the NHL has traveled to Europe to play regular-season games. These games reward the legion of loyal and passionate international fans by featuring some of the NHL’s biggest stars and generating interest in the League worldwide. The Predators-Sharks matchups on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 will be the 29th and 30th NHL regular-season games played in Europe and the sixth and seventh such games played in Prague.

Prior to the Nashville-San Jose season-opening matchup, the Predators and Sharks will complete their training camps in Europe and will each play in an exhibition match as part of the 2022 NHL Global Series Challenge™. The Predators will report to Bern, Switzerland, and play an exhibition game against SC Bern on Monday, Oct. 3 at PostFinance Arena at 8 p.m. CET (MySports Eins, MySports Un, NOVA Sport 1, V Sport 1 Suomi, Viaplay, BSSO, NHL Network). The Sharks will report to Berlin, Germany, and play an exhibition game against Eisbären Berlin on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Mercedes-Benz Arena at 8 p.m. CET (ProSiebenMaxx, Sky Sport Mix, NovaSport, V Sport 1+ Suomi, MySports 8,NOVA Sport1, NHLN, NBCS-California).

The games in Bern, Berlin and Prague will feature some of the NHL’s top talent from across the world. The Predators’ roster includes captain and Bern, Switzerland native Roman Josi, fellow Swiss countryman Nino Niederreiter, Filip Forsberg (Sweden) and goaltender Juuse Saros (Finland). The Sharks’ roster includes Swiss native Timo Meier, Nico Sturm (Germany) and Czech natives Tomas Hertl and Radim Simek.

In addition to the Predators-Sharks contests in Prague, the 2022 NHL Global Series will visit Tampere, Finland, where the defending Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets will face off in pair of regular-season games on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 at Nokia Arena.
