from Joe Starkey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,
This was deeply disturbing on several fronts.
The Penguins didn’t lose Game 3 on Wednesday because the opposing goalie stole it. They didn’t lose by fluke. They lost because they got outplayed, outworked and outsmarted by a vastly inferior team.
What does that say about them?
Are the Penguins finished as a legit championship contender? As a team to be feared?
Plenty of folks outside of Pittsburgh had that opinion long before these playoffs began. I’m not buying it just yet. Ask me again around 8 p.m. Friday.
