from Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun,
The Senators were unable to push the Penguins to the brink of elimination on Friday night at the Canadian Tire Centre. With the 3-2 loss in Game 4, the Senators have put themselves in a precarious position as they try to move to the Stanley Cup final for the first time since 2007.
As far as coach Guy Boucher is concerned, the Senators have already exceeded expectations, so enjoy the moment.
“When you look back on what’s going on right now, I don’t think a lot of people thought it was going to be 2-2,” Boucher told reporters in Ottawa on Saturday. “Our players have got a lot of respect for what they’ve done, what they’re still doing, the opportunity we have. It’s 2-2 (in the) Stanley Cup conference final.
“Let’s go back to September, saying that’s where we’re going to be, we would jump on it. That’s why it’s a great day today.”
