That’s the only way to describe the Senators in their early run of success.

They’re playing out of their minds.

Not only are they exceeding all of the outside world’s expectations, but even they can’t explain how it’s happening. In their last two games they have defeated a couple of Western Conference foes by combined score of 9-2.

“Never,” said Max Lajoie, when asked if he dreamt of a start like this to his NHL career. Four goals in his first six games, (or four more than Erik Karlsson) including the winner in Monday’s knockdown of the more established Dallas Stars? For a guy who had just one in 56 games last season, his first year as a pro?
