from Adam Vingan of the Tennessean,
To learn an opponent requires playing them. It's self-explanatory, but important nonetheless.
The Predators received a crash course on the Sharks in their series-opening loss Friday, taking the appropriate measures to improve in Game 2. Some lessons were learned Sunday, but others weren't in a 3-2 loss that has the Predators behind by two games in their second-round series.
"I think we were better overall," said Predators defenseman Mattias Ekholm, whose late third-period goal briefly tied the game. "I thought we were the better team out there. ... I thought we were just good as they were tonight. They got a lucky bounce in the end and they scored the second goal and that's (what was) needed tonight. I think we should be encouraged by the way we played tonight."...
"The effort was there, the energy was there," Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. "The guys played a good hockey game. We were on the wrong side of two bounces that they were able to capitalize on."
