The Nashville Predators Need The Good Pekka Rinne

06/02/2017 at 6:05pm EDT

from Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star,

“I mean, every question is like somebody died,” said Rinne, on the day before Game 3.

Rinne was a huge reason the 16th-seeded Predators reached the final; he had a .941 save percentage after three rounds. Then he allowed eight goals on 34 shots in Games 1 and 2. Another loss would mean an 0-3 series deficit. No pressure.

“Well, I don’t want to sit here and talk about, all the time, how I’m going to get back,” Rinne said. “I mean, it’s been a great playoffs, and the last two games haven’t gone the way I wanted to, and I know the stakes are high, it’s finals, but I’m still feeling confident, I feel comfortable out there, do the same preparations that I always do.

“You just do your best to put it behind you. Of course you think about things and you go through the games in different situations, and you try to be better and learn from it and be ready for the next one. That’s the mindset. I think you think about this as an opportunity and as a chance to regroup and get back to playing at the level where I feel I’m able to play.”

His teammates spoke with confidence, but then, what choice do they have?
