The Lockout Is Hurting People Like This

via John Vogl of Sabres Edge at the Buffalo News,

Because a bunch of rich guys can't figure out how to split $3.3 billion per year, it won't happen. So we started a new feature this week: Who's hurting tonight because of the lockout?

*It's the gray jacket security guards who worked the wrestling event Tuesday night in the arena and pointed people to their sections and directed them to the correct exits.

*It's the smiling woman at the concession stand who sold my son a drink and won't get paid again tonight.

*It's the ladies at the beer kiosk who sold me a Bud and appreciated the tip because they won't be getting many now.

*It's the guy who would earn money sweeping the aisles after the game.

*It's the group of people who would put up and take down the plexiglass for the boards.

Who's not hurting? The owners and players who have hardly bothered to try and get the games started.

Who’s gonna blink first? Both sides knew this lockout was coming. They have made preparations.Neither side has done anything worth mentioning concerning finding a resolution to this lockout. I’ve got an idea!! Why don’t us ( the fans) start a signing drive. i.e. sign up to a petition letter. The letter will convey to BOTH sides that WE ( us fans) WILL NOT attend any games for two weeks once they get around to coming to an agreement. What do ya think??? If WE (fans) let BOTH sides know that whatever revenue sharing they finally decide upon WE ( the fans ) WILL NOT contribute to their idiotic demands . WE PAY BOTH SIDES EARNINGS!!! If THEY (owners & players) know now that WE (THE PAYING PUBLIC)  will tell them now that they’re HURTING us and the game of Hockey ; maybe, they might be MATURE like adults   Hey Owners and Players GROW UP ! Have and show some Respect for us and ALL the other people whom your childish IN-ACTIONS are causing.OUR Economy is hurting ,why behave so stupidly ; when, such , CAN BE AVOIDED. I hope that some owners and players read this comment. I’m sure Mr. Bettman and Mr. Fehr need some pushing . WE understand the bargining process.YET, in THIS INSTANCE the lockout hurts US (the fans) more than it hurts you millionaire and billionaires. Why don’t YOU (lockouters and lockoutees) go to immediate binding arbitration and start the season NOW. You can work while the arbitrator determines both your fates. If anything put THAT in the next agreement so that a lockout will NEVER OCCUR AGAIN.Remember the golden rule DO unto others as you would have done unto you. WE (the fans) pay BOTH your wages. GET THIS MESS DONE and play Hockey. Have Dignity and show some RESPECT for the Game and US FANS!! signed Sincerely disgusted rayzredwing

mad  angry Can someone somehow get this comment posted to the NHLPA website. They the players need to know that a growing percentage of FANS think this way. Players why don’t you offer up a 50-50 revenue sharing. the distance between whats at stake amounts to a few hundred thousand dollars. When compared to the average Paylers salary of 2, 5 million 2.2 is actually more than the vasy majority of what us fans will make in their ENTIRE LIFE. GET REAL and show us fans and the Game of Hockey some RESPECT!!!!....rayzredwing

Gee. It’s also writers for media outlets that are not getting their time with a team that are hurting.
