If it hasn't exactly been a dream start for the Devils, it's been an eye-opener.
After pulling out a 3-2 triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday night at United Center, the Devils are 9-3-1 in their last 13 games.
"I don't think anyone in this room felt like we didn't have a chance to win games," veteran winger Mike Cammalleri told NJ Advance Media. "It's early, but there's a way to win every game if you can figure it out."
General manager Ray Shero is looking shrewd with moves like signing Russian rookie Sergey Kalinin, who scored the wining goal in Chicago, Lee Stempniak and defenseman John Moore. The trade that brought Kyle Palmieri is paying big dividends.
And rookie coach John Hynes is looking like a genius. Could he have imagined a start like this?
