So, that’s how it ends?

The Edmonton Oilers go 7-2-2 in their previous 11 to keep themselves marginally in the race for the final playoff position in the Western Conference. And then they do that? At home?

Just as they appear to be coming up in the rearview mirror of the teams ahead of them, a gimme game finally comes along, and they gag on it? Gas it? Stink the joint out? Absolutely reek?

And they not only lose it, they lose it 6-3 to the New Jersey Devils, the NHL team with the worst road record in the league and with 12 players out of the lineup with injury, including eight regulars and six of their top-nine forwards.

Only one player in their line-up had more points than Leon Draisailt has goals (42) for the Oilers.
