The Dallas Stars Remain Hot

from Matthew DeFranks of the Dallas Morning News,

The days disappear, the opponents change, but the games keep turning into wins for the Stars.

The Stars extended their point-streak to 10 games on Thursday night by beating the Jets, 5-3, at the American Airlines Center, and Dallas has not lost a game in regulation since Oct. 26, nearly a month of dominance in Victory Green.

Jamie Benn scored the game-winning goal with 4:21 left in the third period, breaking a 3-3 tie and putting the Stars up for good. It was Benn’s fifth of the season and his fourth in the last three games. Benn has scored the game-winning goal for the Stars in each of the last three games....

“I wasn’t having a very good game, if we’re being honest,” Benn said. “Even started that shift with a turnover, but I was thinking about it after they scored and my dad taught me a pretty good lesson in baseball. You go 0 for 3, you’re bummed, but you have another chance to go up to the plate and you could be a hero.

“So I kind of went out after they scored for that shift and figured this is my chance to make a difference. That’s what I tried to do. I came off, sat down, thought of my dad, had a little chuckle there and kept on going with the game. It’s funny the things your parents can teach you in life. That’s one of them.”
