The Chicago Blackhawks Eliminate The St. Louis Blues, Now Wait For Either Colorado Or Minnesota

This pretty well sums up the series and now the question will start, will soon to be UFA Ryan Miller sign with the Blues or go on the open market on July 1st?

Blues: Plenty of good, solid players but no game-changer up front in the Toews/Kane mold, and a goalie past his best-before date.

Practically word-for-word what the CBC guys said.

Backes had a broken toe, not a concussion as many speculated.

I really thought this was the Blues best season to win it all. I can’t see them getting better than they were this year without a massive change.

I don’t know who George Johnson is, but his comments about Miller were uncalled for, and unfair.

The Blues utterly collapsed and let Chicago rub out their captain (and apparently their chances) without much in the way of retaliation. Its hard not to see the Seabrook hit as the turning point of the series-the dirty hit paid off well for Chicago.

Ummmm. .. No.  He had a concussion.  Anyone who ever saw the hit even once and full speed could tell you that, let alone the slo-mo’s that clearly show his head snapping around and impacting..

Backes was not groggy and unable to stand on his own because of a “broken toe”.  One of the Hawks did not tell him “Wakey wakey” because of a “broken toe”.  If that’s the official STL line even now I hope to God the NHL gets in there and investigates because Backes probably shouldn’t have been playing then and it reeks of a concussion cover-up to get their captain in the lineup.  And if so, STL needs to be punished.

Not going after you Paul, but the idea.  The idea that they could say that and expect everyone to go “OHYEAH, Seabrook totally broke his toe.  OBVIOUSLY…”
