The Anaheim Ducks Will Be Cautious With Patrick Eaves

The​ Ducks are cautiously​ optimistic​ that​ forward Patrick​ Eaves​ will​ be​ able​ to​ play​​ in an exhibition game closer to the end of training camp.

Eaves missed all but two games last season because of a post-viral syndrome. He was originally, and as it turned out, incorrectly diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder that affects 1 in 100,000 Americans.

But it’s not any aftereffects from the mysterious post-viral syndrome that have the Ducks and Eaves working on a carefully crafted schedule for his return. The chief issue is his surgically repaired right shoulder.
