I’d think the contracts get grandfathered in lenght, so it would be a seven-year deal no matter what.
Aren’t we all loving those 6yr or more extensions?

Meh, it remains to be seen if he is worth 6 mil per season, not yet anyway.

I’d think the contracts get grandfathered in length
but not in value. If you are a player, do you ask for the right to re-negotiate the length? It is good to get the longer term deal, but a guy like Hall may feel with revenue growth that in year 6 and 7 getting paid $4.54 million is undervalued.

Which if I read the NHL’s CBA proposal properly is really 5 years at $4.54 million.
