Tampa Bay Owner Wants Deal Done Soon

from Crain’s Detroit,

Auburn Hills-based Palace Sports & Entertainment has set a deadline of the third week of January for a Hollywood producer to arrange financing to buy the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League.

Oren Koules, the Los Angeles-based producer of the CBS comedy “Two and A Half Men” and the “Saw” horror films, has emerged as the front man for what’s estimated to be a $206 million bid for the team operated by Palace Sports.
