Look at Steve Yzerman, facilitating trades between rivals again!

I wonder if other GM’s will start adding a stipulation to their deals with Yzerman that he can’t flip the player then to their chief rivals…

See Kenny, this is what you do. When the writing is on the wall, you have to be proactive. The league isn’t structured such that you can fix numerous mistakes by waiting until late (that is, UFA) to address them.

TB is underachieving this season but still has a great core of talent in a prime age bracket. They have some tough RFA (and UFA) situations to address this offseason, and they’ve done things to help that.

I wonder if Cooper will be back.

After seeing some of these other trades, man did the Wild ever overpay for Hanzal

As did the NYR on Smith.  If he was RFA or had a contract it’d be different.

So Fil for a 4th.

Effectively was Fil for a conditional 7th.  Either way, TB needed the cap space.
