With shock waves now dissipated from the NHL shake-up that always occurs during the free agent signing period, there are situations around the league that surprise me:

1. The San Jose Sharks have not tweaked their roster. I never believed the team was going to trade Joe Thornton. But after another playoff collapse, I fully expected the Sharks to make a trade to change their look and placate fans Given their cap situation, a trade was their best option. But GM Doug Wilson hasn’t yet made a move.
