Surgery For Mike Comrie

(Pittsburgh) - Penguins forward Mike Comrie underwent successful hip surgery and is expected to be sidelined for three-four months. The surgery was performed in Vail, Colorado by Dr. Mark Philopon.

Comrie had been in-and-out of the lineup since suffering the hip injury on Oct. 9 during the second game of the season against the Montreal Canadiens.  He has missed the past 15 games due to the injury and was placed on injured reserve Dec. 10.

He actually played really well in the pre-season.  Penguin fans were a little disappointed that he played so poorly during the regular season, but now it appears there was a good reason.  Probably will not play again for the penguins however.
