from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
Detroit Red Wings forward Kris Draper will see a specialist in Philadelphia this week to determine if he needs sports hernia surgery….
Draper tried skating on Monday, after taking a few days off following a setback last week, but couldn’t finish practice.
“Not good,’’ Draper said. “I just went for a little twirl yesterday, felt all right. Then went at it today and felt pretty good and just tried to explode and take a couple of faster strides. That’s where I really felt it. Got off the ice.’’
Three years ago, he had his right side operated on. This time it’s the left side that’s troubling him.“You figure it’s been over four weeks (since the initial injury), if things were going to take care of themselves and heal (they would have),’’ Draper said. “It’s frustrating.’‘

Pretty sure he’s already on LTIR, which is how they got Janik up from GR….The Rafalski case is still a surprise tho. Apparently they dont expect him to be out the minimum required time.

Conspiracy theory: Because of cap issues, they are trying to keep him out of the lineup - ala Maltby’s sudden shoulder surgery last year ending his year/career.
Seriously though, hope he comes back strong!

So LTIR? can we put Rafalski on LTIR retroactive to a couple weeks ago as well; free up a good amount of space, yeah? at least enough to allow us to field a full team :/
