Kukla's Korner Hockey

Sunday Morning Hockey Notes

from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,

- With all the fingers flying in Marc-Andre Fleury’s direction, consider this: The usually excellent Sergei Bobrovsky has been just average in goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

- A question to consider in the wake of the firing of George McPhee and Adam Oates in Washington: How many NHL teams succeed when a winger, not a centre, is the team’s best player? Hasn’t worked in Washington or Toronto. Didn’t work all that well in Calgary with Jarome Iginla.

- If I’m the Caps, my first call is to Ron Hextall. I want a GM with presence.
