Kukla's Korner Hockey

Struggling Flames

from Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun,
The theory is out there: The Calgary Flames -- check that, the struggling Calgary Flames -- are built too much for the 'old NHL.' Which means, they have no hope of being good enough in the 'new NHL.' It doesn't take Leonardo da Vinci to come up with that idea. After all, the Flames' best recent success came in the run to the Stanley Cup in 2004, the peak of the plodding, hook-and-hold, clutch-and-grab NHL. It doesn't look like they've changed their game plan.
