from Chris Ryan of NJ.com,
Things snowballed in a four-goal first period and an eventual 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena, starting with an opening goal where Schneider got jumped trying to play a puck behind his own net.
After scrambling to get back to the crease when the Lightning forced a turnover off his own stick, he got there in time only to have the puck bank off his own leg and into net on the first shot he faced all game.
"That's first-year pro stuff. That's not stuff that should be happening to me right now," Schneider said. "It's nobody else' fault but mine, but it happens and you have to regroup and shut the door and be better for your teammates and not let it snowball. Unfortunately right now, it seems like I'm having a hard time preventing that, especially early in the games, and again, that's only going to come from me."
Now 0-5-0 in his five starts since returning from offseason hip surgery, Schneider's first periods have been one of his biggest issues
