Stop Whining Montreal

from Nicholas J. Cotsonika of Yahoo,

The Montreal Canadiens want respect, but this isn’t how to get it – whining about how the pundits didn’t pick them, complaining about how the Boston Bruins treated them, acting like they accomplished something substantial by winning a second-round series. The Habs beat the Bruins. Congrats to them for the way they played. But the way they acted Wednesday night after their 3-1 victory in Game 7 showed not how far they have come, but how far they still have to go.

“Listen, it comes down to respect,” said Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban. “I think we’ve done a lot of great things in this league since I’ve been here. Our team’s done a lot. But we failed to get the respect that I think we deserve, and I think we earned that.”

Really? What great things have the Canadiens done in recent years? What respect do they deserve? What have they earned?

You are a dope, Cotsonika. They earned respect by beating a team that was a heavy favorite to not only beat them, but to win the Cup.

Holy crap. Are you friggin’ kidding me?? They took the big, bad Bruins to 7 games when they were supposed to roll over and die. Yeah, they accomplished something. They beat the team that most didn’t think they could beat. This author is beyond moronic.

The only whining I see going on is from Cotsonika.

I was surprised by this article.  The playoffs are all about hot goalies, lucky bounces, injuries and players that go hot and cold.  Defeating the number one seed that almost every pundit had winning the Cup is accomplishing something.  Second round or not.  Hey, Montreal gets to play in the Eastern Conference Finals and the big, bad Bruins are going golfing.

I never thought I would see the day I would agree with Jack Edwards but his tweet about Montreal being hungrier is spot on.

Subban is right, sort of. Montreal hasn’t gotten much respect. They haven’t earned any. Until now. They looked like a team that could win it all. Cotsonika is an idiot.
