Still Not Right

A year ago, the end of the NHL lockout was approaching and details of the league’s new economic system were trickling into public view. Analysts came to the same conclusion about the free agency period: Career reputations would be made, or destroyed, based on moves made. For those atop the Bruins’ power structure, primarily Jeremy Jacobs and Mike O’Connell, it was the latter. So for B’s fans, it’s hardly reassuring that Peter Chiarelli, officially introduced yesterday as the club’s new general manager, won’t go to work until two weeks after the opening of free agency, on or just afterJuly1.
