We officially should stand down on all FA’s and trades that don’t land us a top pair D-man.
F’n hell.
Posted by Wise1 on 06/29/16 at 04:08 PM ET

So let me get this straight. Stamkos is off the market, Hall just got traded for a song, Weber and Subban traded places, and Holland is left standing there with his dick in his hand.
Sounds about right. Cant wait to get Nielsen for 6 mil for 7 years.

Maybe Wings can get Kucherov off TBL’s hands.

Sign and trade… maybe. At that cap hit, would be a huge return to Tampa.
Gives KH plenty of time for Plan B.

I won’t lie: part of me likes that this might make Kenny focus on working out a deal to get a top pair d-man.

There are a lot worse situations.
Let’s just hope Kenny doens’t mes that up by indulging in one or two of them.
Posted by Primis on 06/29/16 at 04:30 PM ET

Will they be able to re-sign Hedman? Kucherov? Johnson?
I’m bummed we missed out on Stamkos.

What I have heard, the Bolts may have to move Flip.

Or the opposite. If he can’t land the big FA then why bother upgrading the D?

focus on working out a deal to get a top pair d-man.
Would be nice. Not sure what realistic options exist.

If you think Taylor Hall was traded for a song, you have no clue about Adam Larsson.

DO NOT TRADE FOR VALTERRI KENNY.

Oh fu*k. Stay off of the phone, Kenny.

The welcome back FA deal is usually a 1st, right?

Right so can someone explain, all you trades are hard people, who in the world we would offer in kind in thes deals?

Don’t even think about it, Holland.

Ericsson for Hall.
Sproul for Subbhan.
Is it not obvious?

Absolutely not a song but not enough based on current play.
We’ll certainly see, though. Larsson plus one more solid d and who knows, maybe the Oil cracks the top 11 or 12 in the west.

Larsson for Hall is a good trade for both. Larsson is an excellent defenseman.

Adam Larsson is NOWHERE on the level of a Taylor Hall. Hall is an elite player in the NHL and Larsson has the potential to be good maybe great but you don’t make this trade if your EDM. Eberle, YES. RNH, YES. But not there best winger.
I’ve watched Larsson since his U-18 WJC and he has always been a very good defenseman but so far after 5 NHL seasons he has not amounted to what he was drafted to be.

I agree. I think Edmonton will live to regret this deal as Larsson is good, but not quite good enough to be sending Hall the other way.

Perfect. Stevie Y owes the Wings, so Holland resigns Quincey and trades him to the Bolts for Fil. Then he packages Fil with Ouelett and a 2nd for Shattenkirk.

I thought one of the nice things about moving to the East was that we got Weber out of our division… Looks like more knee injuries this year in the Atlantic!
Posted by Steeb on 06/29/16 at 06:41 PM ET

$8.5 seems low. Guess he really wanted to stay there.
That shows that most of the BSer’s haven’t got a clue because it was reported the Wings were ready to spend up to 12 mill per year for Stamcos. Teams won’t trade with Kenny any more, but he will run out and overpay for a UFA
Okposo’s price just went up.
That’s clever reasoning but please explain why? And while your at it tell me how the Islanders are going to stay under the cap…. they can’t resign him , they have a lot of UFA’s
Okposo is worth 5 mill per not a penny more.

Trade Flip to anyone but Detroit.

The backup plan is to shore up the defense. Any move(s) to push E down to the third pairing (albeit a very expensive third pairing) would be an improvement.
