Steven Stamkos On The Current Play Of The Tampa Bay Lightning

from Joe Smith of The Athletic,

Steven Stamkos wants to make something clear.

The Lightning captain wasn’t calling out his team through the media with his scalding comments following Sunday’s 4-3 loss to Carolina. Stamkos said they were “totally outclassed” as they try to continue being that “freewheeling team that thinks we can come into games and win because we’re skilled.” As a result, Tampa Bay was held to just two shots total over the final two periods.

“Unless we change things,” Stamkos said. “It’s going to be a really, really, really long year.”
