Steve Mason's Deal In Winnipeg

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg Jets announced they have agreed to terms with goaltender Steve Mason on a two-year contract with an average annual value of $4,100,000.

Mason, 29, played in 58 games for the Philadelphia Flyers last season and posted a 26-21-8 record with three shutouts, a 2.66 GAA and a .908 SV%. The Oakville, Ont. native has played the last nine seasons for the Flyers and the Columbus Blue Jackets during which he played 463 games and went 200-177-63 with 33 shutouts, a 2.68 GAA and a .911 SV%. He also won the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year in 2008-09, after going 33-20-7 with a 2.29 GAA and .916 SV%.

Mason was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the third round (69th overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft.
