Start Disclosing Injuries

from the Delaware County Times,
..."Why not disclose injuries as the playoffs near?" The answer most commonly given around the league? Targeting. That’s right, targeting. As in, a player with a bum shoulder will be checked into the boards harder and with more regularity if the opposition knows about the player’s malady. "When you start talking about injuries in a series and injuries against an opponent, people pay attention," said Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock. "Why give another team more fuel for the playoffs to focus on your players?" It’s a fair question, but one that shouldn’t have to be broached in a professional sports league.
