NEW YORK (April 6, 2015) -- Ottawa Senators goaltender Andrew Hammond, Philadelphia Flyers center Brayden Schenn and Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Nick Foligno and have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending April 5.

FIRST STAR - ANDREW HAMMOND, G, OTTAWA SENATORS

Hammond helped the Senators continue their surge for a playoff berth by posting a 3-0-1 record, 1.63 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage as Ottawa (40-26-13, 93 points) finished the week two points behind both Wild Card spots in the Eastern Conference. Hammond stopped 16 shots in a 2-1 shootout victory over the Detroit Red Wings March 31, made 28 saves in a 2-1 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning April 2 and 29 stops in a 4-3 overtime win over the Washington Capitals April 4. He closed the week by posting 36 saves through overtime and five more in the shootout in a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs April 5. The NHL's First Star for March has posted a 17-1-2 record with a 1.86 goals-against average, .939 save percentage and two shutouts since his season debut Feb. 16.

SECOND STAR - BRAYDEN SCHENN, C, PHILADELPHIA FLYERS

Schenn tied for the League lead in points with six (3-3-6) in three games as the Flyers (32-29-18, 82 points) gained five of a possible six points. Schenn opened the week by notching two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins April 1. He tallied an assist in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Carolina Hurricanes April 4 and finished the week by again tallying a game-winner against the Penguins and adding two assists in a 4-1 victory April 5. Schenn increased his scoring total to 17-28-45, setting a single-season career high. He ranks second on the club in game-winning goals (five), fifth in goals and points and fourth in assists.

THIRD STAR - NICK FOLIGNO, LW, COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS

Foligno tied for the League lead in goals (4-1-5) in three games, helping the Blue Jackets (39-35-4, 82 points) set a franchise record with wins in nine consecutive contests - the longest winning streak in the NHL in 2014-15. Foligno scored a goal in a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils March 31, picked up an assist in a 4-3 shootout win over the New York Islanders April 2 and collected his first career hat trick in a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins April 4 as the Jackets erased a 2-0 deficit to win their fourth-straight at home. This season, the first-time All-Star has registered scoring totals of 30-40-70 with a +12 rating in 75 games. He leads the club in goals, points, plus/minus rating and power-play goals (11) and has set single-season career highs in goals, assists and points.
