Spezza Will Have Back Surgery On Friday

Could be a crippling blow for this team. Anderson is playing lights out, but he won’t be able to keep this pace up, and losing Spezza means they have to juggle their C situation. Either move Turris up to the first line (they had him with Michalek and Alfie last night for most of the game), which is asking a lot of him in terms of matchups, and takes away from the strength of the team, having him at 2C in the first place. Or put Peter Regin there, which they tried for a bit in the Caps game (not a fan of the guy at all). Or maybe even put Zibanejad there, and at 19, he’s not nearly ready for that kind of role, great game last night or not.

I agree with Brennan’s assessment that if it’s longer than a month, perhaps looking elsewhere for help might be a good idea, without trading too much of the future of course, because this team is still in somewhat of a rebuilding mode.

Ugh!  I pinned my fantasy team on this guy wearing the C for the Raging Hippies.
