Souray Just Sitting

from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal,
Wouldn’t it help the Oilers if they had Souray playing somewhere, rather than sitting on his backside, for his trade value?
“I don’t know about that,” said Tambellini, who undoubtedly has been on the phone to the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Islanders, who have lost Mark Streit with an injured shoulder, possibly for the season.
“We have been through this (thinking of the different scenarios with Souray) for some time. All I know is he’s healthy now.”
Souray hasn’t responded to several text messages to ask if he’s skating by himself in Los Angeles or maybe he’s asked a Western Hockey League junior team if he can practise with them.
“All we know is he’s not in Edmonton,” said Olczyk.
The Islanders are under the NHL’s cap floor of $44 million and could easily fit in Souray, but they are loath to spend money. Colorado is under, too, but they are talking of trading for New Jersey captain Jamie Langenbrunner because the Devils are over the cap. Columbus still seems the best bet for now. They are evaluating their roster through camp, however.
