Slump Continues For The Anaheim Ducks

10/26/2018 at 7:25am EDT

from Elliott Teaford of the OC Register,

Another trip to Texas, another second period that went haywire in a hurry, and another lopsided loss to the Dallas Stars. The Ducks were outmuscled, outhustled and outscored in a decisive second period for the second time in 13 days on Thursday at the American Airlines Center.

Final: Dallas 5, Ducks 2.

“We’ve got to play hockey,” Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf said. “It’s (expletive) embarrassing. The way we play defense and the way we swing our sticks around and not help our goalie (John Gibson). I got asked the other day if I thought we hung him out to dry and I said, no. My answer has changed now.”

The Ducks chased the game from the early minutes and were soon headed to their fourth consecutive loss and a 5-5-1 record after starting the season by going 5-1-1. The Ducks were outshot 41-25, the eighth consecutive game they’ve given up 30 shots or more.
