Size Of Wings No Longer A Concern

from Mlive,
Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland was concerned about his club's size coming into the season. The Wings bought out the contracts of Darren McCarty and Derian Hatcher, two of their biggest, toughest players, and Holland wondered if the team was lacking in that area. It's no longer an issue. The addition of newcomers Mikael Samuelsson, Johan Franzen, Dan Cleary and Andreas Lilja to a group that included the likes of Brendan Shanahan, Robert Lang and Jiri Fischer has given the Red Wings more than adequate size and strength.
