from Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice,
Is Guy Carbonneau headed to New Jersey?
Carbonneau stepped aside this week as head coach of Chicoutimi in the QMJHL – he is co-owner of the team – and Marc-Étienne Hébert was named today as his successor.
Indications are that the Devils will name a head coach by the end of this week or early next week, so the timing would fit. Nothing is confirmed at this point.
If Carbonneau did get the Devils’ job, he would be the latest in a long line of former Canadiens’ coaches to hold the position in New Jersey following Jacques Lemaire, Larry Robinson, Pat Burns and Claude Julien.
