Sidney Crosby Leading The Pittsburgh Penguins

from Joe Starkey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,

It's not just that Sidney Crosby is "leading" the Penguins, scoring goals and setting them up and playing what is probably the best 200-foot game in the NHL.

No, it's more than that.

It's deeper than that.

The recent spate of injuries seemed to spur some kind of chemical reaction in the Penguins’ dressing room. I don’t know how long it will last, but I know this: Crosby has literally, if unwittingly, infused the rest of the team with his particular style of hockey.

He is them. They are him.

If you had to describe the Penguins’ style at the moment, during this unlikely four-game winning streak, you could accurately say, “They are doing what Sid does and playing the way Sid plays — fast, furious, responsible, intelligent.”
