Should Subban Take The Offer?

via TSN,

The Montreal Canadiens and defenceman PK Subban are still in negotiations over a new contract, as RDS reports that the team has offered him a two-year deal worth $5.5 million.

RDS adds that Subban’s camp is looking for a longer term.

Subban made $875,000 last season, his third in the pros as part of his entry-level deal. He had seven goals and 29 assists in 81 games.

Yes. That’s an insane amount to pay for nothing more than potential. He will take it if he is smart.

via L.A. Lariviere tweet,

Subban’s agent tells us there’s no truth to the report he’s been offered a 2-yr, $5.5M deal “what they’re reporting nis not accurate”

That is a bargain if it is true.  Someone that says based on potential must not watch him play much.  He is their best damn and plays the most minutes on the team.

I think you might have if not for some of the character questions.  I sometimes wonder if some of these kids think about things like that…
