Using University of Michigan full scholarship student as an example: out of tuition per year $80,000 ?.... Housing ??...Meals ??

4 years for out of state student has to be worth north of $300,000….

I don’t believe college athletes should be paid.

I also don’t believe schools should be allowed to sell merchandise with a players name or likeness either.

Hockey isn’t exactly football or basketball.  In addition to not being the revenue powerhouse the other two are, many NCAA hockey players are already the “property” of NHL clubs.  I think if student-athletes are going to get paid, football will probably be the test case.

Big schools would have an unfair advantage. Womens sports would become a quagmire with demands of equal pay.

Would the Colleges then be able to use the players likenesses while they are there because they are employees? Unemployment insurance and health care costs. I don’t think they have thought it through very well. I guess they would be contractors?
