LA came back strong today. I thought Vancouver was going to rebound after Daniel returned and make it a tough series.

The KIngs are just loaded with big, fast, aggressive, hard-hitting talent.
And THEN they have Jonathan Quick!

The Kings-Blues series will be great hockey.
Both teams are loaded with young talent.

If Pho beats Chi; will anyone even care enough to watch the western conf playoffs?

All of Canada is in mourning

Naw, they don’t like Vancouver any more than they like LA. HNIC could barely contain their love for the Kings and Quick during the intermissions.

Luongo might get run out of town on a rail.

@w2j2 I am quite satisfied with the Vancouver loss. No love for that team have I. Love the way the Kings play, Sutter hockey! Looking forward to round two.

i live in LA and am a wings fan, but still proud of the team here. they work very hard for what they get and this is a great win. hope they keep it going!

as for van…ugh. if anything this is the year they should be torching the city. let’s hope they don’t.

It’s been 11 long years since we’ve won a series, and it couldn’t possibly have come about in a more satisfying manner than this.  Wish the Ducks were lined up for us in the next round, but I guess we’ll have to put together a bunch of 1-0 or 2-1 games and try to take out Hitchkock’s kids.

I’m not a huge Quick fan but man he is a good goalie. I wouldn’t be surprised if this LA team represented in the West in the SCF. They play very well on the road and their forechecking is great, they remind me of how the Blues play which should make for a very interesting series.

This LA team reminds me a lot of the ‘04 Flames team, which was also coached by Sutter. Lots of hard work, strong on the boards, defense first mentality, elite goalie playing lights out hockey. The major difference is big names/talent. Sutter has more to work with this time around. Hithcock’s Blues are the biggest stumbling block to the SCF. Here’s to hoping LA can get there!

Too many top teams knocked out.  Should seed 1 to 16.  Have less upsets that way
