From Bob McManaman at the Arizona Republic:
History has a funny way of repeating itself and on Wednesday night, in front of a “white out” crowd at Jobing.com Arena - much as it was 15 years ago in Winnipeg - the Coyotes might have played their last game in Arizona.
Again, it was Detroit that ended their season. This time, it was a series sweep punctuated by a 6-3 victory in a bitter Game 4 before a sellout crowd of 17,314.
“Nobody likes to leave their home, ever,” Doan said after the game. “Fifteen years ago, it was an emotional time to leave. When you’re told to leave your home, it’s always difficult.”
The only difference is, back then the Jets and their fans knew it was coming. The relocation to Phoenix was a done deal before the playoffs even began in 1996.
This time, there is nothing but uncertainty.
