Shanahan Skates

In his first time on the ice with his teammates since suffering a concussion on Feb. 17, Brendan Shanahan passed and fired shots at goaltenders for 20 minutes today, then skated drills with two coaches for another 20 minutes (with two reporters watching) and declared that he was encouraged—-and improving.
“I’m tired, but I feel good,” Shanahan said after the workout, a major step in his recovery. “So far, no symptoms, and that’s a positive sign…I pushed myself to exhaustion—-no vertigo. The only side effect is heavy breathing.”
