‘Seven Swedes A Playing’

from the Detroit Free Press,
"Homer's from the North Pole," Draper said, laughing. "The North Pole, and he has seal skin." Technically, nationally and legally, though, Holmstrom is Swedish, which does absolutely nothing to set him apart on the Wings this season. Seemingly seeking to set a record for most Swedes employed by a company not actually in Sweden, the Wings have seven on their roster this season. How did this happen? The phenomenon began 16 years ago, when the Wings selected Nicklas Lidstrom in the third round of the 1989 NHL draft.
