from Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch,
According to the team, Bobrovsky departed because of a lower-body injury, suffered just five periods into his return from a groin injury initially suffered on Dec. 8. It was Bobrovsky’s third groin strain in as many seasons.
Whether he suffered a fourth was not immediately clear.
Coach John Tortorella declined to “speculate” on Bobrovsky’s status after the game.
“I don’t have an update because I haven’t talked to the doctor,” Tortorella said. “I’m not a doctor, so there is no sense in me discussing it.”
General manager Jarmo Kekalainen said only that more would be known about Bobrovsky’s injury on Friday.
But another injury of any sort to Bobrovsky is yet another big blow to the beleaguered Blue Jackets. No. 2 goalie Curtis McElhinney (ankle) remains out and is not expected to begin skating until after the All-Star break.
Bobrovsky missed 17 straight games before returning on Tuesday.
