“I want to see some of our young players get some exposure, to have a chance to play with the better players in the organization and see where they fit,” said Murray.
“I hope that we’re anxious to make some changes if players are good enough to step up and challenge (an existing) player.”
Translation: If the Senators suddenly show they are 10-deep in NHL-quality defencemen, it allows Murray to consider the possibility of trading an existing player to improve the forward ranks.
